Children

The Clubhouse ministry consists of two opportunities for growth and learning for ages 4 through grade 4:

Sunday School — meets Sunday mornings during the school year at 8:45 with opening prayer time, announcements and discussion about our monthly offering project. We also introduce a piece of the Bible story that will be shared in our rotation model Sunday School classes.

Clubhouse Kids — meets Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:30-7:30 in the Clubhouse. Join us for more opportunities to grow in faith. Currently, the Clubhouse Kids are doing The Story Bible study, using games, crafts and other activities to engage in the Bible story.

It's Operation Christmas Child Time!

Many of you are aware of my love for the shoe box gift project that I do with the children here each year. It’s called Operation Christmas Child, and simply put, it is a Christmas gift in a shoe box.   Why do I love OCC so much?  While I am fully aware that Christmas is not about the gifts, I can’t imagine as a child not receiving a gift on Christmas.  It is so important to me that the children who receive our gifts know someone loves them and thinks about them,......

Back to School Night Supplies More Than Notebooks

The t-shirts said, “Live Generously”.  They were a gift from one of our Lancer Locker sponsors, Thrivent Financial, but they spoke so much more to me. Lancer Locker Lancer Locker was born ten or or more years ago out of the desire to live more generously.  It was the result of three teenagers coming back from a mission trip and wanting to do more for their own community, and it lives on.  Every year, the youth organize supply collections and host a Back to School Night. They sort, collect, buy and give......

On Tuesday we learned that Jesus walks on Water. On Wednesday we learned that Jesus sheds light on how we live. On Thursday we learned that Jesus shows us love by dying on the cross. And on Friday we celebrated that Jesus is the true light of our lives! The greatest story ever told!  ...

La Crescent Lunch Wagon makes UMC Conference Agenda

La Crescent UMC was a focus of one of the videos shown. In August of 2015 a video crew from MN Annual Conference came to La Crescent to record the story of the lunch wagon. This year at the Annual Conference meeting, the conference showed this video of how we join together with the rest of the community to feed children. This isn’t just a story of those on free and reduced lunch. It is a story of feeding all kinds of children healthy lunches of meat and cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit......
