The AGAPE program was founded in March, 2000 by Linda Thrune.  During a short-term mission trip in The Gambia, it became apparent that there is a great need for assistance for the common people of Africa to receive an education. This is especially true of people wishing to progress above the primary school level. The words from Ephesians 4:12-13 provided the foundation for this program. Students are identified by missionaries, teachers, pastors, and others and sponsors in American are enabled, through the program, to provide assistance.  African schools and universities are utilized and supported through student tuition and fees and increased student enrollment.
